To engage undergraduates in the field of nanotechnology research and engineering, the SENIC team offers two paid technical college internship positions during the spring semester. Students must be enrolled in a technical college within commuting distance of Georgia Tech. One student is selected to intern in the Institute for Matter and Systems (IMS) Biocleanroom and one student is selected to intern in the IMS Materials Characterization Facility. To learn more about the details of these internships, see the overviews below. If you would like to learn more about these internships, please reach out to the Director of Education and Outreach, Mikkel Thomas.
Biocleanroom Internship Overview
The IMS Biocleanroom intern will become responsible for many of the day-to-day needs of the cleanroom facility and will learn to operate a variety of analytical tools. In addition to using cleanroom tools and equipment for experiments, the lab technician will also be charged with training other cleanroom users to use said equipment.
