K-12 Resources
IMS offers opportunities for educators to learn about and teach nanotechnology.
The Research Experiences for Teachers (RET) program for high school teachers and technical college faculty offers a paid opportunity to experience the excitement of nanotechnology research and to share this experience in their classrooms. The Summer Nanoscience Institute for Middle School Teachers is a five-day workshop in which teachers will learn about nanoscience, develop lesson plans, and receive hands-on activities that bring nanoscience into the classroom.
Research Experiences for Teachers
The National Nanotechnology Coordinated Infrastructure (NNCI) offers teachers the opportunity to experience nanotechnology research. This program is offered to teachers by four NNCI sites: Georgia Institute of Technology, the University of Minnesota, the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, and Northwestern University.
